Sync your buzzes & tweets via Dlvr.it!

I before talked about "how to push your buzz to Twitter via feedburner". But it still couldn't solve the integration problems between Google Buzz and Twitter. But now, We can synchronize Twitter and Google Buzz bi-directionally and easily with Dlvt.it!

Dlvr is the best choice of messaging delivering service. You do not need to synchronize multiple social networks by a third party service UI you do not like, Dlvr just does its job and never bother you. :P It never forces you to publish things from it.

What you need to give Dlvr are only a source (RSS feed) and a destination. Then Dlvr.it will deliver all the posts for you! Dlvr offers not only from-one-to-one delivering, but also from-many-to-many delivering! What's more, Dlvr supports multiple platforms, like Facebook, Twitter, Google Buzz ... etc by default. So we can set it up easily!

Firstly, let me introduce the basic steps to synchronize our Twitter and Google Buzz posts. The advanced applications (like facebook, fan page...etc) will be for the next time! ^ ^ "

  1. At first, of course, sign up an account at Dlvr.it ! (Dlvr support OpenID login! You can use facebook, twitter, Google, Yahoo, or other OpenID logins! )

  2. Secondly, Find your own Twitter and Buzz feed. Buzz feed is easy to find, just enter the following URL. Buzz feed API: http://buzz.googleapis.com/feeds/{your Google Account}/public/posted

Twitter feed can use RSS reader to find your own feed ^ ^ For example, you can use Google Reader to subscribe your Twitter timeline (e.g.twitter.com/erichangsn and my name is @erichangsn). Google reader will find your RSS feed after a while.

Here are 3 easy steps to know your Twitter feed via Google Reader:

    1. Get into Google Reader.

    2. Click the blue "Subscribe" button at top-left of the reader. Fill in "twitter.com/{$YOUR_TWITTER_ID}".

    3. After you subscribed the feed, click "Show details". Then you can see your feed's url.

  3. Then fill those two sources into Dlvr, one feed one route. Following three steps will deal with Google Buzz to Twitter part:

    a. Click "Add route" and set the source with the Buzz feed URL.

    b. Then select the source Editing button and click on the "Item Text" tab. Add a suffix "--From Buzz" (for example) to identify the posts from this source in your feed. This is to avoid duplicated Tweets and Buzzes when synchronizing.

    c. Finally, add the Twitter accounts in the destination field and complete certification and authorization. So that you make Buzz to Twitter now. Ya!

  4. Twitter to Buzz is the same. Add a route, Twitter feed for the source field, Google buzz account for destination and complete authentication. Then set post suffix "--From Twitter" in "Item Text" tab and set ignoring posts having "--From Buzz" (or the Buzz feed suffix you set) from Twitter to buzz ^ ^ Tip:Ignoring setting is in the filter tab.

    * Filter Tip: If you often chat with friens on Twitter, and do not want to bother your friends on Google Buzz, you can add one more filter conditions: ignoring "{$Twitter Username}: @" for All Tweets. e.g. "EriChangSN: @" (without quotes and case sensitive.) My twitter username is EriChangSN, when my user ID is @erichangsn...

Keywords to filter are separated by commas without double quotes.

Because all the replies and mentions begin with this format, adding this filter makes you and your friends' jabbering not sent to Google Buzz. ~Last but not least, don't forget to set a filter for buzz feed after setting up filters for twitter feed.~

Dlvr.it is really a very useful tool for message synchronization. Dlvr.it uses new technique named Pubsubhubbub (an RSS extension), so speed is much faster than the old RSS services like feedburner (Though feedburner also use pubsubhubbub...I don't know why.) Now I use it not only to sync Google Buzz and Twitter, but also to export my posts to my Facebook for my friends on Facebook.

What's more, Dlvr is also responsible for "EriCSN the Dreamer", my blog fans page's status update!

"Dlvr for Facebook" maybe next time. I welcome any questions about Twitter & Google Buzz synchronization ^ ^ & Welcome to leave comments too, thanks.

And if you know a better service than Dlvr.it, please come here and share it! XD

Thanks to Goingbuzz.net for co-working with me and sharing this post!
Google Buzz rocks!
